When Silva Construction needed to install a gate at the Otay Mesa border crossing, they wanted to first check for underground utilities prior to drilling. They first tried to call DigAlert but DigAlert would not work near the border. They then called GPRS to perform the underground utility locating. We used ground penetrating radar to scan their drilling locations. GPR can locate any types of piping, even plastic or PVC. We also used Radio Detection to check the areas for live power and communications signals.
