Safety is our top priority as it serves as a core value that guides the culture and manner in which we perform our work. Our commitment to safety is an all-encompassing way of how we conduct business and place our employees, customers and the communities’ well-being at the forefront. We believe our safety vision defines who we are and our safety records set us apart. Our 2014 Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.47 reflects a construction safety record substantially better than the industry standard.
Striving to achieve the highest level of safety performance from our employees, involvement into our safety culture begins the first day of employment. We have extensive training for new staff in our state-of-the-art training facility. Every GPRS technician in the field is OSHA 10 certified. Multiple technicians across the nation have also completed the Hazwoper 40 course and are staying current with the annual training refresher.
We believe each employee shares the obligation and responsibility to prevent incidents or accidents. Monthly safety training, observations programs and job hazard analyses are some of the tools we use company-wide to help our technicians prevent incidents from ever occurring. The monthly safety trainings cover a variety of topics pertaining to job site hazards, driving awareness and incident reporting. It’s mandatory each field technician complete a JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) before every job to ensure the job is being completed in the safest manner possible.
In an effort to maintain and stay competitive with the industry, GPRS is a member of several safety programs, both nationally and locally. GPRS has safety memberships with ISNetWorld, PICS, PEC Premiere, Veriforce, Houston Area Safety Council, New Orleans Safety Council, Northwest Ohio Safety Council and several other local councils.
